Cleanup Terms of Use

Effective Date: August 24, 2026
App: Cleanup
Developer: © 2026 Cleanup
Contact: feedback.cleanup@icloud.com

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Cleanup mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App"). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, purchasing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

The App is distributed through Apple's App Store and is also subject to Apple's applicable terms, including the Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple Standard EULA"). These Terms supplement the Apple Standard EULA. Mandatory Apple terms and non-waivable consumer rights apply if they conflict with these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally able to enter into these Terms. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the App only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms for you.

3. Limited License

Subject to these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA, Cleanup grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store usage rules. The App is licensed, not sold.

4. Acceptable Use

You must not:

  • Use the App unlawfully, fraudulently, or to violate another person's rights.
  • Copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
  • Bypass access controls, payment checks, or technical protections.
  • Interfere with the App, its providers, networks, or other users.
  • Use automated methods to abuse, overload, probe, or disrupt the App or its services.

5. Permissions and Your Content

Cleanup needs permissions such as Photos, Contacts, and Calendar to provide requested features. You decide whether to grant these permissions and can change them in iOS Settings. Some features will not work without the required permission.

You retain ownership of your photos, videos, contacts, calendar events, and other content. You represent that you have the rights and authority needed to let the App access and process content on your device. Cleanup's access is limited to providing features you request, maintaining the App, and the processing described in the Privacy Policy.

Cleanup does not operate its own backend server environment. Feature data such as photos, videos, contacts, and calendar events is processed on your device and is not uploaded to or stored on servers controlled by Cleanup. Third-party services may use network connections as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Cleanup, Deletion, and Editing Actions

Review before confirming. Similarity detection, duplicate detection, storage estimates, suggested selections, compression results, and contact matching are automated tools and may not always match your preferences.

  • You are responsible for reviewing selected items and confirming each cleanup action.
  • Deleted photos and videos may remain in Apple's Recently Deleted album until you recover them or Apple permanently removes them.
  • Compression, conversion, contact or calendar editing, merging, and deletion can change or remove data. Maintain any backups you consider necessary.
  • Storage savings and output quality are estimates and depend on your device, library, iCloud status, media format, and chosen settings.

7. iCloud, Device Resources, and Connectivity

Some items may be stored only in iCloud. Previewing, analyzing, converting, or compressing them may require a network connection and may download the original item to your device. You are responsible for carrier data charges, roaming charges, available storage, battery, and a reliable connection.

We do not guarantee that Apple services, cloud content, geocoding, Firebase Hosting, or other external services will always be available or error-free.

8. No Advertising

The current version of Cleanup does not display advertisements or use Google Mobile Ads.

9. In-App Purchases and Auto-Renewable Subscriptions

Cleanup may offer one-time purchases, free trials, promotional offers, and auto-renewable subscriptions. The exact product, billing period, price, currency, trial eligibility, and included features are shown in the App Store purchase screen before you confirm a purchase.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when the purchase is confirmed.
  • An auto-renewable subscription renews unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.
  • Apple may charge your account for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends, at the price shown for the renewal.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • Any free trial or promotional period is subject to eligibility rules shown at purchase. Unless canceled in time, it may convert to a paid subscription.
  • Refunds and billing disputes are handled under Apple's applicable policies.

We may change future pricing or available plans as permitted by Apple and applicable law. Any required notice or consent will be provided through Apple or the App.

10. Third-Party Services

The App relies on services supplied by Apple, including iOS, Photos, Contacts, Calendar, iCloud, geocoding, and App Store billing. This website is delivered through Firebase Hosting. The providers' own terms and policies apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party service interruptions or content outside our control.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is processed, including on-device photo, contact, and calendar analysis, Apple services, Firebase Hosting, subscriptions, permissions, and your privacy choices.

12. Intellectual Property

Cleanup and its licensors own the App, its software, design, branding, text, graphics, and other materials, excluding your content and third-party materials. No rights are granted except the limited license expressly stated in these Terms.

Feedback you voluntarily provide may be used to improve Cleanup without restriction or compensation, provided we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

13. Availability, Updates, and Changes

We may update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features. Updates may be required for continued use. We do not guarantee that the App will support every device, iOS version, media format, contact format, location, language, or third-party service indefinitely.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, non-infringement, or data preservation.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, these exclusions apply only to the extent permitted, and your non-waivable consumer rights remain unaffected.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cleanup and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, content, profits, revenue, business, goodwill, or opportunities arising from or related to the App.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits your mandatory statutory rights. Apple is not responsible for maintenance or support obligations beyond those required by the Apple Standard EULA or applicable law.

16. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, misuse the App, create legal or security risk, or if the App is discontinued. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limitations, and applicable payment obligations.

17. Applicable Law and Consumer Rights

These Terms are governed by applicable law, without depriving you of mandatory protections available in your country or region of residence. Any dispute should first be raised with us at the contact address below so we can try to resolve it informally. Nothing here requires a consumer to waive a forum, remedy, or right that cannot lawfully be waived.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the App, providers, business practices, or law. The revised Terms will be posted here with a new effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request acceptance.
